Moderate warming increases PSII performance, antioxidant scavenging systems and biomass production in Stylosanthes capitata Vogel

摘要
•We studied the response of tropical legume Stylosanthes capitata Vogel, to warming.•Warming did increase the ETR of the warmed leaves compared with the control leaves.•A significant reduction in 1-qP and Y(NO) were observed in the warmed plants.•Under warming, LAI and biomass production increased by 32% and 16%, respectively.•Warming (+2°C over ambient) would be advantageous for growth of tropical plants.
