Commissioning results of the 0.5MW/68GHz/1.0s gyrotron on HL-2A electron cyclotron resonance heating system

•A test stand for the test of gyrotron is introduced.•Test results show that the output power of gyrotron has a close relation to the high voltage, magnet current and heater power.•The measurement method of operation frequency and output power of gyrotron is introduced.
