5. Risk for Trichomonas Vaginalis Infections in Internet-Recruited Females Who Submit Self-Collected Vaginal Swabs

Submission of self-collected vaginal samples (SCVS) at home could remove barriers that adolescents face in getting tested for sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Internet recruitment of such specimens has been shown to be highly acceptable to women for testing of chlamydia and gonorrhea. The purpose of this study was to add trichomonas testing to the menu of available tests and to ascertain risk factors associated with trichomoniasis.
