Development of PIBSI type dispersants for carbon deposit from thermal oxidative decomposition of Jet A-1

•The thermal oxidative decomposition of Jet A-1 with PIBSIs was performed.•The relationship between the head group and the deposit precursor was investigated.•The alkyleneamine and amino ether type of head groups were used.•The efficiency of carbon deposit reduction using PIBSIs was determined and compared.
