Aktuelle Chemotherapiekonzepte bei Gallengangskarzinomen

Current Concepts of Chemotherapy in Biliary Tract Cancer Carcinomas of the biliary tree are rare tumors of the gastrointestinal tract with rising incidence during the last years. Biliary neoplasms are classified into intra- and extrahepatic cholangiocarcinomas (Klatskin tumor, middle and distal extrahepatic tumors), gallbladder cancer and ampullary carcinomas. Neoadjuvant or adjuvant radiation therapy, chemotherapy and chemoradiation are not an established mode of therapy thus far. A combination chemotherapy including cisplatin and gemcitabine is regarded as new standard for palliation. Palliative radiotherapy and chemoradiation should be reserved to studies as sufficient data are still missing. First clinical study results are available for tyrosine kinase inhibitors as new therapeutical approach.
