摘要
Histopathologic evaluation showed injury to one nerve root or ganglion when voltage applied was Z 833 V. Thus, 667 V, which was also supported by the mathematical model, was used for the survival study. Average field strengths of 130 V/cm and 96 V/cm were observed in the nerve roots when 833 V and 667 V were applied, respectively. In the survival animals, MRI showed no evidence of injury to the spinal cord and none were clinically symptomatic. Histopathology is pending. Conclusion: While the spinal cord seems immune to the effects of IRE, injury to the nerve roots or ganglia may be the limiting factor for use in the vertebral body. Incorporating the use of mathematical models to set inverse treatment parameters may be helpful for treatment planning.
