Vascular biology of adiponectin

Epidemiological studies demonstrate that hypoadiponectinemia reciprocates the morbidity and mortality associated With Vascular dysfunction and myocardial infarction. Results to date indicate that the protective nature of adiponectin is rooted in its multifaceted anti-inflammatory, cardiovascular and endocrinological influences. The present review focuses on current findings pivoting around the molecular and functional aspects of adiponectin in the inflammatory and cardiovascular system.
