摘要
The Spanish Association for the Study of the Liver was created in 1967 in Madrid on the initiative of Professor Manuel Díaz Rubio. Initially, this association was called the Spanish Association of Hepatology and was a subsidiary of the Spanish Society of Digestive Diseases, from which it became independent with the passage of time. The first congresses were held in Madrid every two years. Subsequently, meetings were held at distinct venues until 1985, when it was agreed to hold them annually in Madrid. One of the highlights of the congress has been a progressive increase in the number of women participants, as well as an increase in the number of collaborative works presented.
