•We investigated 195 patients that have undergone an aortic valve replacement with a bioprosthesis.•The mechanisms that promote a vascular/valvular calcification (higher valvuloarterial impedance) are poorly understood.•We documented that circulating Lp-PLA2 mass was independently related to a higher valvuloarterial impedance.
