摘要

•New natural biopolymer composite was prepared using Eichhornia crassipes and chitosan.•Surface characterization of Eichhornia crassipes/chitosan composite was examined.•Sorption experiments were carried out as a function of pH, dye conc. and time.•EC/Cs have high ability to remove Reactive Black 5 from its dyebath effluent.
