摘要
•Our findings demonstrate that HBECs stimulated by nicotine produce a dramatic decrease of SP-A and SP-D expression, which increases extracellular matrix and collagen deposition and promotes the development of airway remodeling and this effect was mediated through cross-talk between Wnt3a/β-catenin and PKC signaling.•These results establish the basis for future investigations into the mechanism of airway remodeling.
