The exposure to Trichilia catigua (catuaba) crude extract impairs fertility of adult female rats but does not cause reproductive damage to male offspring.

This result suggests that maternal exposure to CAT during the initial phases of development may be toxic to the embryo with no signs of maternal toxicity and no important reproductive alterations in male pups.
