The palpebral conjunctival epithelium thickness in young adults measured by optical coherence tomography

•A Cirrus HD-OCT 4000 system was used to image the palpebral conjunctiva.•A difference in brightness on OCT can be discerned.•The palpebral conjunctival epithelium thickness was determined based on the brightness difference.•The analysis of inter-researcher variability demonstrated a good agreement.•The palpebral conjunctival epithelium thickness can be measured using OCT.
