Simultaneous determination of ezetimibe and its glucuronide metabolite in human plasma by solid phase extraction and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry.

•Ezetimibe and ezetimibe glucuronide were quantified in human plasma simultaneously.•A sensitive LC-MS/MS method was established and validated.•The analytes were purified by solid phase extraction simultaneously.•No enzymatic hydrolysis of ezetimibe glucuronide was involved.•This method was successfully applied to the human bioequivalence research.
