摘要
Association of the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) insertion/deletion (I/D) gene polymorphism with sepsis susceptibility and sepsis progression is still controversial. This study was performed to evaluate the association of the ACE I/D gene polymorphism with sepsis susceptibility and sepsis progression using a meta-analysis method.A predefined literature search and selection of eligible relevant studies were performed to collect data from electronic databases. The ACE DD genotype was associated with sepsis susceptibility (DD genotype: OR = 0.69, 95% CI: 0.51-0.92, p = 0.01). However, the ACE D allele and II genotype were not associated with sepsis susceptibility. Furthermore, the ACE I/D gene polymorphism was not associated with sepsis progression. The ACE DD genotype was associated with sepsis susceptibility. However, more studies should be performed in the future.
