摘要

•We generated a H5N1 influenza virus-like particle vaccine based on clade 2.3.2.1.•Mice vaccinated with VLP induced stronger humoral and cellular responses than WIV.•VLP+CFA showed 100% protection against clade 2.3.2.1, 2.3.4, H5N8 virus challenge.•H5N1 VLP provided cross-clade protection for the control of H5N1 HPAI infections.
