Reduction of gastrointestinal symptoms in Parkinson's disease after a switch from oral therapy to rotigotine transdermal patch: a non-interventional prospective multicenter trial.

•Gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms are common in Parkinson's disease (PD).•Side effects of anti-PD medications may contribute to GI symptoms.•PD patients with GI symptoms were switched from oral medications to rotigotine patch.•Intensity and frequency of self-assessed GI symptoms improved following the switch.•50/58 patients were “satisfied”/“very satisfied” with regard to their GI symptoms.
