摘要

•KLF9 was found to be downregulated in human glioma samples.•Re-constitution of KLF9 inhibit glioma cell proliferation in vitro and tumor growth in vivo.•KLF9 directly repressed miR-21 expression by interacting with its promoter.•We first identified that microRNA is involved in KLFs functions.•KLF9 functions an important tumor suppressor.
