Air pollution associated hypertension and increased blood pressure may be reduced by breastfeeding in Chinese children: The Seven Northeastern Cities Chinese Children's Study

•Long-term exposure to air pollution may increase arterial blood pressure in children.•Levels of PM10, SO2, NO2, O3, and CO were associated with increased odds of hypertension in children.•The negative impact of air pollution on hypertension and blood pressure may be reduced by breastfeeding.
