Comparative study of 17 β-estradiol on endocrine disruption and biotransformation in fingerlings and juveniles of Japanese sea bass Lateolabrax japonicus.

•Estrogen at very low concentration significantly affected the endocrine system in different age group of sea bass.•Under exposure to estrogen biotransformation system was also affected.•Significant relation found between endocrine and biotransformation system when exposed to estrogen.•Fish adapted to the exposure condition when the exposure period increased.
