Intraplacental choriocarcinoma in residual placenta 8 months postpartum.

We present a 40-year-old woman, gravida 6, para 6, who had a normal vaginal delivery at term after an uneventful pregnancy and gave birth to a male healthy baby weighing 2960 g. After delivery, severe hemorrhage and hypotension occurred and the placenta was pulled out in pieces. Revision of the uterine cavity was performed and additional placental tissue remnants were evacuated. Post-partum bleeding ceased after 6 weeks.
