Comparison of different solid-phase extraction materials for the determination of fluoroquinolones in chicken plasma by LC-MS/MS.

•Sensitive method for fluoroquinolones in chicken plasma with LODs between 0.03 and 0.05μg/L.•Development of a new SPE method including the combination of mixed-mode sorbents.•Polymeric and mixed-mode sorbents yield higher recoveries compared to silica-based sorbents.•Combination of mixed-mode sorbents shows no matrix effects in contrast to polymeric sorbents.
