Distinct regulation of Th2 and Th17 responses to allergens by pulmonary antigen presenting cells in vivo

•Th17 responses and neutrophilia are enhanced in the lung of mice depleted of CD11c+ cell or macrophage.•Th2 responses, eosinophilia and AHR are diminished in the lung of mice depleted of CD11c+ cell or macrophage.•MHC II expression on lung epithelial cells is dispensable for the generation of pulmonary Th2 and Th17 cells.
