Chemokine receptor expression on integrin-mediated stellate projections of prostate cancer cells in 3D culture.

•CXCR7 and CXCR4 were up-regulated in 3D cultures of the PCa cell line, PC3.•These receptors were localized to invasive stellate projections in PC3 spheroids.•Integrin β1 function was central to PC3 stellate morphology in 3D culture.•Integrin β1 modulates expression of CXCR7 and CXCR4 in 3D cultures of PC3.•Suggests a regulation between ECM, Integrin β1, and CXCR7/CXCR4 in PCa.
