Co-inoculation of baculovirus and FMDV vaccine in mice, elicits very early protection against foot and mouth disease virus without interfering with long lasting immunity.

•We used baculovirus and inactivated FMDV (iFMDV) to formulate vaccines.•We tested such vaccines in the murine model.•Co-inoculation of Bv with iFMDV protects against viral challenge at 2dpv.•Such protection can be maintained using iFMDV oil vaccine up to 14dpv.
