Active surveillance for low-risk prostate cancer worldwide: the PRIAS study.

Data from the largest observational prospective study evaluating active surveillance for low-risk prostate cancer worldwide support the feasibility of this strategy to reduce overtreatment, at least in the short term. Clinical characteristics and prostate-specific antigen kinetics during follow-up can be used for risk stratification.
