摘要
Studies over the past decade suggest that newly graduated nurses may not be 'practice ready' (Burns and Poster 2008). Although the pre-registration program provides students with requisite nursing knowledge and skills, the development of interprofessional team practice is not always overt. The challenges that interprofessional teams face in managing team processes as well as their individual professional identities is well described (Kvarnstrom 2008). This and a need to provide rich and meaningful clinical experiences for increasing numbers of nursing and other health care students has led to new research. A Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA) grant is enabling a Monash University group to explore interprofessional clinical learning opportunities.
