摘要
The most critical factors for survival after thermal injury are age, presence of concomitant inhalation injury, and extent and depth of the burn wound. The conversion of initial partial thickness burns to full thickness injuries is common. Deep partial thickness burns may present a diagnostic challenge for even the most experienced burn surgeon. Immediately after injury, coagulation necrosis causes tissue loss in the center of the burn wound. The surrounding zone of stasis has viable tissue with compromised perfusion. Ongoing apoptosis in the zone of stasis could extend the size and depth of the original defect thereby adversely affecting outcomes.
