Latching plasmonic switch with high extinction ratio

摘要
We demonstrate a plasmonic latching switch (5 μm long) at 1550 nm with a 6 dB extinction ratio. It exploits the reversible formation of conducting nanofilaments in a plasmonic waveguide. It maintains its state without any power consumption.
