Power efficient high-rate data service provisioning in vehicular networks.

ABSTRACTPower efficient resource allocation is attracting a lot of attention aswireless networks get more populated with data users. In this paper we focus on vehicular networks where Roadside Units (RUs) provide high-rate data service for the users of vehicles. We take into account both queue and channel dynamics of the wireless links and propose a channel and queue aware power allocation, where Base Station (BS) and RU adjust their transmission power based on the data available in their queues. Numerical results confirm that the proposed scheme results in low power consumption, without affecting the throughput and delay performance of the system.
