Smart battery dispatch strategy based on dynamic programming

With the increasing popularity of electric vehicles, there will be huge amount of electric vehicles visiting the battery charging station to change their batteries. In the charging station, a robotic arm may move back and forth thousands of times to change batteries for vehicles every day, which results in huge energy consumption. However, it is difficult to design a good dispatch method to minimize the energy consumption of the robotic arm since arrivals of vehicles are real-time and unpredictable. In this paper, under the actual application scenario, we propose an effective algorithm to address this issue. According to our simulation, this algorithm can always find the global optimal dispatch strategy, which can minimize the energy consumption of the robotic arm.
