Multi-scale simulation and system architecture for thermal engineering design of digital clothing

The new application of CAD technologies demonstrates great potentials in the clothing thermal engineering design, because the capacity of simulating and predicting the thermal performance of clothing is indispensable for designing clothing for thermal protection and comfort. In this paper, a sort of general software architecture for thermal engineering design of digital clothing is developed. Based on the investigation of multi-scale simulation method for the clothing wearing system, a generic software architecture is build up and to realize the simulation ability of the thermal engineering design of digital clothing. The different CTE-CAD system can be developed under this software architecture for different design requirements and help the designers quickly and economically achieve the thermal quality clothing in digital way. © 2011 Binary Information Press.
