A new phase catastrophe-points detection method for BPSK

Time-Frequency Analysis methods can not have a higher detection rate for BPSK signal's phase catastrophe-points under low SNR environment. A new phase catastrophe-points detection method is developed in this paper for BPSK signal in low SNR environment. First, it estimates signal's carrier frequency and calculates the amplitude matrix of STFT transform at signal's carrier frequency. Second, it sets a threshold and accumulates useful values. At last, it sets a proper threshold to detect phase catastrophe-points. The simulation proves the validity of the method and shows that the method can effectively improve the BPSK signal catastrophe-points detection rate under low SNR environment.
