An improved analog network coding scheme for cooperative communication systems

Analog Network Coding (ANC) has shown the promise of significantly reducing time-slot overhead for cooperative communication (CC) networks in a wireless multi-user session environment. Even through some people have realized its potential adverse effect such as noise propagation (called ANC noise) except its promising benefits, but do not propose an effective solution to further improve system performance. In this paper, an improved method inspired by Tomlinson-Harashima Precoding (THP) in multi-user session with single relay, where a modulo operation is used to control the power for the relay and further reduce the effect of ANC noise, is proposed. The numerical experimental results show that the proposed scheme achieves better achievable rate and lower outage probability than existing schemes.
