Ontology-driven information sharing mechanism in supply chain environment

With the increasingly fierce competition caused by global economic integration, modern enterprises should pay more attention to the business cooperation of inter-organizations. As a result, information sharing becomes a crucial factor for coordinating the supply chain network. This paper proposes an ontology-driven information sharing model, in order to solve the problems of semantic heterogeneity of information systems in the supply chain. Based on the theory of ontology, the mechanism of information sharing stated in this paper is able to obtain ideal effect with less human intervention. By giving a detailed description of the ontology-driven process, this research presented a basic framework of the information sharing mechanism in supply chain environment, and the feasibility is verified with examples.
