Synthesis of 1,4-diketones by microwave irradiation

Aim: To synthesize 1, 4-diketones by the Stetter reaction under microwave irradiation condition. Methods: 1, 4-Diketones were synthesized by ammonolysis of the β-keto ester, condensation with aromatic aldehydes and reaction with p-fluorophenyl aldehyde by microwave irradiation. Results: Ten 1, 4-diketone compounds were designed and synthesized, and their structures were confirmed by IR, 1H NMR and MS. Conclusion: Microwave-assisted synthesis of 1, 4-diketones by the Stetter reaction is feasible with the advantage of shorter time and higher yield.
