Method for reconstruction and representation 3D models in digital museum

With the advent of technological developments in Virtual Reality and the abundant content and need for the preservation and conservation for culture heritage, there has been an explosion of Digital Museum projects world-wide. In this paper, we propose a method to reconstruct and represent 3D models of real objects. Our method can register all the range images together and reconstruct a complete 3D model of the real object. To represent 3D models through the Internet, vertices of 3D meshes are re-classified according to the octree rule and encoded with high compression ratio. Our blind 3D watermarking and a zero-watermarking method are robust against attacks of affine transformation, simplification, vertex reordering, noise and remeshing. All these techniques are applied in Digital Museum projects.
