Immunomodulatory effects of Ganoderma lucidum spores polysaccharides on tumor-bearing mice

Aim: To investigate the immunomodulatory effects of Ganoderma lucidum spores polysaccharides (GLSPs) on EC and S180 tumor-bearing mice. Methods: Effects of GLSPs on the humoral immune function and the endothelial system (RES) phagocytosis function of EC tumor-bearing mice were assessed. Moreover, CTL, TH cells and regulatory T cells in the peripheral blood lymphocyte of NK cells in S180 tumor-bearing mice were detected by flow cytometry and the activity of S180 tumor-bearing mice was examined. Results: GLSPs could elevate the humoral immune function as well as the clearance exponent K and phagocytose quotient α of EC tumor-bearing mice. GLSPs also increased CTL and TH cells in the peripheral blood lymphocyte of S180 tumor-bearing mice with no effect on regulatory T cells. In addition, GLSPs could strengthen the activity of NK cells in S180 tumor-bearing mice. Conlusion: GLSPs could strengthen the immune system of the EC and S180 tumor-bearing mice.
