Fabrication and techniques of organic light emitting device

Organic light emitting device research has developed during the past 40 years, especially in the last decade, organic light emitting devices have been extensively studied due to its desired properties. OLED possessed other significant advantages, such as low thickness, light weight, low fabrication cost, low power loss, better vision, fully solid state, self-luminous, low driving voltage (3-12V) and compatible with flexible substrates etc. OLED have gained tremendous attention from industry and academia because of the potential to replace current display technologies. First, we review the history of the field of OLED and discuss the current development trends, some common organic materials have been simply introduced. Then a detailed review on the structure of the devices, the luminous mechanism, especially fabrication methods of full-color display as well as the fabrication crafts has been done in this paper.
