Role of pharmacist in the clinical intervention of prescription automatic screening system

Objective: To develop methods of clinical pharmacy by using prescription automatic screening system (PASS). Methods: Through the research on factors affecting the clinical use of PASS, the work of clinical pharmacist was divided into 2 aspects: the inside of PASS, the outside of PASS. The role of clinical pharmacist in PASS intervention was discussed from theoretical and practical aspects. Results: The inside of PASS included rational warning information and provided the exact dealing opinion. The outside of PASS included many aspects such as drug therapy regimen evaluation and pharmaceutical care, etc. Conclusion: PASS is a tool for clinical pharmacy and can not substitute for the work of clinical pharmacist.
