In this paper, the authors discuss how a layered, information application-oriented intelligent transportation systems (ITS) architecture was for analyzing ITS information attributes such as time, space, medium, layer, quality, storage, communication, security and them. The objective was to develop a data model for ITS information application with self-description and self-operation. The authors also discuss an exchange mode that was used.
