Sol-Gel preparation of Er3+ doped SiO2 glass and its spectroscopic properties

Er3+ doped dry gel and glass were prepared by the Sol-gel method. Difference thermal analysis (DTA) and fluorescence transmission infrared radiation (FTIR) were used to study the fundamental properties of the gel and glass. The spectral curve, infrared spectrum and fluorescent spectrum of Er3+ doped dry gel and glass were illustrated. The results show that the gels transfer to glasses at 800°C. The emission peak positions of gels and glasses are the same.
