Influence of titanium on microstructures and mechanical properties of superalloy GH150

The influence of Ti content on the microstructures and mechanical properties of superalloy GH150 was investigated with metalloscope, TEM, chemical phase analysis and mechanical property testing, etc. The result shows that the amount of γ precipitation phase increases with the increase of Ti content when the test Ti content is in the range of 1. 63 %∼2. 96 %, and the quantity of Ti in γ phase also increases from 0. 92 % to 2. 17 %. Therefore, the Ti in GH150 plays the role of strengthening precipitation and affects mechanical properties remarkablly. With the increase of Ti content, ambient yield strength, tensile strength and stress-rupture strength of the alloy at 700°C are raised, but its ambient tensile ductility and stress-rupture ductility are lowered because of the combined effects of γ and μ phases.
