Performance of surface oxygen over MnOx/ZrO2 catalysts

MnOx/ZrO2 catalysts were characterized by XRD, TPD and TPR. The results indicated that MnOx species on ZrO2 were mainly MnO2 and Mn2O3. Reduction-oxidation treatment raised the dispersion of MnOx species on ZrO2. The interaction between MnOx and ZrO2 promoted the decomposition of MnO2, and restrained the decomposition of Mn2O3. The highly-dispersed or little crystallite MnOx was the predominant contributor in oxidation activity for CO.
