Microwave measurement and adjustment on a 14 MeV standing waveguide for medical accelerator

An introduction was made on the measurement and adjustment of a 14 MeV on-axis coupled, S-band standing waveguide for the medical accelerator which can provide the adjustable electron-beam (from 6MeV to 14MeV) and adjustable X-ray (6MeV or 15MeV). The total length of the waveguide is of 1.45m, which is operated in the ��/2 mode at 2998 MHz and is driven by a S-band magnetron that delivers a 2.6MW peak power, 4 ��s width at 250ys. The variation of energy was realized by varying the RF power, the injection voltage and injection current of electron gun. The microwave cold test process was described and the tuning result was given.
