Hydro-conversion of Gudao vacuum residue in the presence of industrial wastes

Hydrocracking of Gudao vacuum residue in the presence of two industrial wastes, a fired pyrrhotite waste named Red Waste and a waste called Red Mud in alumina production, was conducted in a stirred autoclave. Hydrocracking was taken place at a reaction temperature of 420 ��C, a residence time of 1 hour and an initial hydrogen pressure of 7. 0 MPa with 1%��5% waste addition. The test results indicated that both wastes could inhibit the coke formation, and the Red Mud was even better. 50% conversion can be obtained with naphtha and distillates as main products. The sulfur content in the cracked residue was also less than that in the feedstock.
