Determination of adriamycin in plasma and liver tissue by HPLC with fluorescence detector

A high performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detector for the determination of adriamycin (ADM) in plasma and in liver tissue was reported. Daunorubicin (DM) was used as the internal standard. The mobile phase consisted of 70 ml of methanol and 30 ml of 0.01 mol/L NH 4H 2PO 4 solution containing 0.5 ml of acetic acid. Excitation and emission wavelengths were set at 450 nm and 530 nm. Average recovery and RSD were 101.5%, 2.7% in plasma and 99.6%, 2.0% in liver, respectively. The detection limit of adriamycin is 6 ng. The method is simple and highly sensitive.
