The design and implementation of virtualization technology application on power grid dispatching automation system

The power grid dispatching automation system is the nerve center of the strong smart grid, and its safe and stable operation is the strong guarantee of power supply. To make efficiently use of computing resources, improve the availability and flexibility of power grid dispatching automation system, this paper proposes to apply the virtualization technology to the power grid dispatching automation system to make it provide the required resources such as computing, storage and network. Through in-depth analysis of the current situation of power grid dispatching automation system and virtualization technology, this paper indicates that the virtualization technology is suitable for application in power grid dispatching automation system. Using the virtualization technology, the virtual resource pool is built; Base on the pool the grid dispatching automation system architecture is given. Then through the deployment of system hardware design, program implementation and advantage analysis, the power grid dispatching automation system based on virtual technology is built. Results show that the power grid dispatching automation system based on virtualization technology has the advantages of high availability, high resource utilization rate, load balancing and easy to scale. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
