Study on deflection of reinforced concrete beam strengthening with CFRP cloth

Based on the assumption of plane section and linear elastic model, CFRP (carbon fibre-reinforced plastics) strengthening reinforced concrete beam stiffness and deflection have been analyzed in this paper. It is has been solved the problem of such beam's deflection and stiffness problem in the serviceability limit state, that is can't be properly calculated with present method, although bearing capacity for the ultimate limit state to this kind of beam is main design aspect. This paper's calculation formula can guide the relevant components of the design and has been verified by the four root concrete beam's test results.
