Electrodeposition and characterization of a bamboo-like ZnSe/Zn heterostructure ordered array

Without templates or catalysts, a periodic ZnSe/Zn parallel ordered nanowire array has been successfully fabricated via a simple electrodeposition method. The morphology, phase structure and chemical composition of the as-prepared samples have been characterized by atomic force microscopy (AFM), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Optical properties of the ordered array are also investigated by UV-vis absorption spectrum. Meanwhile, I-V curves at different ambient temperatures are tested to research the electrical properties, which exhibit nonlinear and nearly symmetric characteristics and the current evidently descends with the decrease of temperature from 300 K to 150 K.
